REALITY REVISED #3: HARDCORE ASTROLOGY

"This bidirectional telescope was built to accommodate several different modes of operation,” the research director explained. "For instance, right now, the action is set to allow hermetic feedback. In other words, whenever you focus its lens on a particular star, the image of that star exists just as far backwards within your mind as the star itself is from your eyes."

“And if I switch it to-" as his new assistant pulled the telescope's bolt back towards his chest, it revealed a hollow chamber within the optical tube. A lone brass shell sprung forth from the gap, then jingled onto the observatory's floor. He closed the mechanism in panic, only to cause yet another shell just like it to slot into place.

"What you just did fully loads the telescope, sets it to gnostic. Those are firmament-piercing rounds." The director sighed, almost longingly. "For when you want to make sure that you'll never date another Scorpio again."
